I remember, a few years ago, my daughter calling me from school when I was in the middle of a fun weekend crafting getaway with friends.
"Mom. I'm so sick."
"What's wrong, hunny?"
"I'm dying."
"More specifically, what is happening?"
"Everything. I'm dying."
I tried my best to talk her through it, but there was just nothing I could do from a hundred miles away. She's in her own apartment now, but I started thinking about what happens when my son gets sick in the dorms. I'd like to think I've gotten smarter. So, I enlisted my daughter's help to come up with a fun zippered bag that will be appreciated when your college student is feeling YUK.

Project: Yuk at School Kit
Supplies needed: Zippered Pouch (I used a 6"X11" zippered pouch)
Things to include in pouch:
- Extra insurance card
- Business sized card with parents phone numbers (this is a joke- call mom to feel better!)
- Tums
- Acetaminophen
- Allergy meds
- Thermometer
- Cough drops
- Emergen-C
- Tea
- Decongestant
- Immodium
Several of the things from my list are available to use with FSA or HSA monies. When I discovered that I could search for FSA eligible items, use my FSA card directly in Amazon, and then have the items delivered directly to my student--- THAT WAS AWESOME!
I also used my FSA funds to purchase a First Aid kit for him. The kit I chose has band-aids and other emergency items. I will include the link below, also, but this is for more general sickness. Stomach ailments, headaches, and cold and flu.
I decorated my pouch with a personal touch- but I didn't want to go too over the top so my "little boy" would be teased by his brand new friends.
Here are some links to the items I found on Amazon:
